Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 June 2026
Freegate is a client app for viewing a Frigate NVR instance that you own and operate. This policy explains what the app handles and what passes through the optional notification relay run by Cagri IT Services OÜ.
What stays on your device
Server addresses and app preferences are stored locally on your device. Server credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain. All of this is removed when you delete the app. It may be included in your device backups under your own control.
Connection to your Frigate server
Live video, recordings, snapshots, and event data are exchanged directly between your device and the Frigate server address you enter. They do not pass through Cagri IT Services OÜ. We have no access to your server traffic.
Notifications (optional)
If you turn on push notifications, the app pairs once with our notification relay
at freegate-notifications.cagriari.com.tr. The relay exists because
iOS cannot receive Web Push directly from your Frigate server - it acts as a
bridge between Frigate's notification system and Apple Push Notification service.
The relay stores, per device:
- A random pairing token (we generate it; you can delete it at any time).
- Your Apple Push Notification token (the iOS push delivery address).
- Your filter preferences (cameras, labels, quiet hours, anti-spam throttle).
- The cryptographic key pair Frigate uses to send encrypted notifications to the relay.
When Frigate detects something on a camera you selected, it sends an encrypted Web Push payload to our relay. The relay decrypts it, applies your filters, and forwards the result to your device through Apple. The relay holds no credentials to your Frigate server and cannot reach it. No notification contents are written to long-term storage on the relay.
Removing the pairing from Settings → Notifications deletes everything above from the relay.
No analytics, no tracking
The app contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. No usage data is sent to Cagri IT Services OÜ.
Children
Freegate is not directed at children under 13.
